Chief Oratam... OK, starting to come back to me now.... Helen's Hut would have been across Lodi street from the Sunoco station? about 2 short corners north of Coast Automotive? Never ate there. What about Steljie's though? Been racking my brain about that one. Was that on Main St, near the Middle School?

Sorry for the delay in getting back,   T.O.T.H.....another Son of Hackensack passed on this past week....H.H.S. class of 71.....Way to soon....

Yes Steljies was on Main Street just south of, the Fox Theater.......I remember the split pea soup.....it was the best......you just can't find a good place like that to eat these day's.....I know all things pass....but it's just not getting any better..

Jacks Airport Diner.....was the best though...sat on rt 46 west in So. Hackensack where there is now a wendys....they always had fresh cooked Roast Beefs,Turkeys,Hams, everything, it was like eating Mom's cooking, Meat, vegetables and mashed.....nothing like it around these days.........

Wetsons (not Wessins) was on the south side of Essex St. in Lodi.
Ginos, was where Boston Market on Hackensack Avenue is today, as well as on Market and Midland in Elmwood Park.

You won't find this on their site (and don't send it to them). I taped this off WNEW-FM in 1978 and recently found it on an old cassette tape. After listening to these two idiots, I made sure I never went to Gino's.

I used to shoot for WNEW-FM back then (find the "WNEW-FM" listing on my site) and was friends with all those people...........except one. I've never heard of Carole Getzoff, so I did some research.

Is this who you're thinking of?
