Description:

Photo Stereoview-HACKENSACK, N.J.-St. Joseph Church- Lot 2-These are two,old photo stereoview cards of Hackensack, New Jersey. One card is marked "St. Joseph Church Caarol ST?".The photographer is "E.A. Poe". The card has some creases.The second card shows men, in front of a house with a bicycle and an uprooted tree.. It is by The Poe Studio 102 Main St. Hackensack. Both cards are sold is used, as found condition.


There's no indication that either of the images has any connection to Hackensack, other than Mr. Poe.

the church was an easy one. it is a shot of St. Joseph Church in Paterson right after the great fire of 1902. the Church is still there at the corner of Carroll St and Market St.  I couldnt get the google earth image here though.

and believe it not I think the one with the house and uprooted tree is at the corner of John St and Union St. northwest corner, the house is still there, looks just like the one in the shot.

Yes the church is in Paterson after the "Great Fire". I have a photo taken by Poe Studios of my Great Grandfather who lived in Paterson at the time of the fire. He passed away in 1947.
