Fairmount Eats, located at the intersection of Terrace Place, Main Street and Poplar Avenue in Hackensack, open its doors four years ago.

Restaurateur Nick and his friendly staff prepare fresh and delicious meals for their customers day after day beginning with breakfast. Their lunch and dinner specials have a variety of flavors from many cuisines; American, Italian, Mexican and Mediterranean.

Upon entering this eatery, you can’t help but notice the beautiful murals that are hand painted on the walls, its quaint décor and homey feel. Take a seat by the window and you’re bound to catch a glimpse of a train go by.

I ordered the Calabrese Panini and let me tell you that it was a party on a panini. It included grilled chicken, roasted peppers, tomatoes, mozzarella and the most delicious pesto sauce I ever tasted. It was served with a side salad but who cared; my mouth was dancing to the “Copacabana.”

There is covered outside patio seating and ample lot and street parking.

Their cute little Fairmount Eats car is not parked for long because there is always another free delivery to be made. They welcome corporate accounts and called or faxed in orders. You can also place your orders on their website. Heck, they will even fax you their specials and soups of the day. Did I mention they make four homemade soups a day? No matter what season it is, I will always have the soup, thanks Fairmount Eats.

What better way to follow a fabulous panini? Something sweet of course!

Enjoy one of their homemade treats. I did.

Until next time, mangiare bene!
