200º Hackensack snow photo 2/21/11

Actually, more than 200º.

In this one picture you can see: the apartment building at 40 Passaic St (at State St), the PSE&G facility in Ridgefield by the Turnpike, the Bergen County Courthhouse, the Middle School, The First Presbyterian Church, Hackensack Hospital, all the high-rises on Prospect, the First Baptist Church and School, the new building at 29 Linden, the apartment building at 5 Pangborn Place, Anderson Park, the apartment building at 70 Anderson, the Holy Trinity Convent, the apartment buildings at 46 and 50 Anderson, and Holy Trinity Church's snow-covered steeple (and lots more). If it had been a clear day, you would also see midtown Manhattan, Garret Mountain in Paterson, and the Ramapo Mountains in New York State.

My new little camera has a PhotoStitch program that's kind of fun, but FAR from perfect. I took 6 pictures from my roof as I moved in a slow semi-circle, leaving a bit of the previous shot in the frame for the program to stitch together.

Unfortunately, there is some edge curvature that might not have existed in the previous frame and the resultant stitching looks like it was done by Stevie Wonder, or, in this case, someone with a blind rage against two of our churches.

The hi-rises in the background are not exactly vertically parallel to each other either, but this program is still an interesting feature that I'm gonna have to explore some more.

Because the final picture is about 7 times wider than the image I posted below, you'll have to click on the link to see it full-size - warts and all. And then be sure to click on the resultant image to get the big picture and then scroll away.
