The Great Tape Escape (almost)
« on: September 19, 2011, 05:38:13 PM »

I saw this tiny 2mm circular spot on my leather bag today and extracted it with a piece of tape. I didn't know what it was, so I took pictures.

It suddenly elongated a bit, so I took some more. I couldn't really see what was going on until I downloaded the files.

It started out on its back, stuck to the tape. The second picture shows it trying to turn over and get on its legs. The third shows it separating from some hair and actually on its legs.

Amazing.

The fifth shows it making its move and the sixth shows it literally dead in its tracks. It never moved after that, but it sure made a valiant try.

I hope I don't hear from the ASPCCrawlyThings.

Now that's one sick and weird looking grub.  Not your average beetle

For some perspective, here's how tiny it was versus the piece of Scotch tape that it was stuck to.
