WWII planes over Hackensack
«

These planes were part of a recent weekend show at Teterboro. I had hoped to get some closer shots, but this year's flight paths were further away than usual.
There are two pictures each of two different planes on two different days.

The best views of Teterboro bound aircraft North of the airport is provided when the wind is out of the South. Aircraft land into the wind so when there is a South wind I get to see the traffic over Paramus near Spring Valley and Midland avenues at about 1100 feet above ground level, surely lower over Hackensack.
The distinctive sound of a B-17's rotary engines is hard to miss. The only modern day Teterboro bound aircraft that is easily recognized via it's engine sound is the Italian built Viaggio Avanti P.180.
A beautiful ship that is the fastest non-jet private aircraft available.

It is a pusher type engine arrangement but hardly the lone ranger at Teterboro.
The P.180 is a popular shared or full ownership aircraft and is part of a fleet of 60 leased out by this company:

.
You can see arrivals and departures from Teterboro here:
http://flightaware.com/live/airport/KTEB
When you see a P.180 listed click on the Type # and you will see how many Avantis are in the air at that time along with their location. At this time there are 18 en-route to various airports. This is the link

That live flight tracker is cool.....Hank ....but I think there is only One......P180.....ident.... VNR180..... that runs regular runs out of Teterboro...and its seems it only does short runs.... it just did westchester cty.ny..... and I've seen it just hop down to newark and come back again....
By the way it made it to......Westchester cty.(KHPN) in
11 MINUTES
from Teterboro (KTEB).....
I guess thats why ....if you got money to burn why sit in traffic that would have taken 2 hours by car...ATLEAST

Here is another interesting site if you enjoy info about the area's air traffic.
http://www4.passur.com/lga.html
View this on the 40 mile scale and you get an idea of the scope of traffic overhead at most times. You can set the start time and date so if you see an interesting craft note the time and set it later to get the ID, originating and destination airport along with altitudes along the way. The aircraft symbol you click on will highlight and give you the information.
