Truly fascinating video. Don't think The Record even reported the place was torn down. When I was a reporter at The Record and lived in Englewood, I stayed at the Oritani during a blizzard to ensure I would make it back to the newsroom on River Street the next day. At that time, The Record prided itself on never missing an edition.
I once made the mistake of eating in the Japanese restaurant at the hotel -- probably the worst in North Jersey.
