Description:

This Lion Match Co. Giant match book is from Lightning Auto Stores in New York and New Jersey.

[From the AMCC WebPage - Giant Feature Match Book -- A Lion Match Co. trademark for match books, which usually contained one large comb of wide match sticks (but may have had up to four) (with or without imprint) and measured 9 1/16 in. by 3 3/8 in. Each match stick measured 3 1/4 in. x 1/4 in. Themes included Christmas, business, product, and service establishments. Giants were started around 1936 and were still in production 1994. During WWII, the O.P.A. banded the manufacturer of Lion Giants Match books except those with Christmas themes.]

This Lion Giant match book is NEAR MINT & UNSTRUCK with all the matches retained. There is some very minor TLC handling present, but nothing serious. You are viewing both sides and the inside/sticks of the ONE match book in this sale. Difficult to date exactly, but probably from the 1940s or early 1950s. (Note: On the image showing the sticks, the match book was held down by a piece of glass, therefore you see two edges on either side of the stick. They are not part of the match book.)

"Opposite the Court House"? Hmmm............I wonder if this is where the old Coast Automotive was.
