Last week's weather captured
« on: June 10, 2012, 08:11:09 PM »
It may not have been everyone's favorite weather, but it was a photographer's delight, producing a bonanza of images................there are some YEARS when I don't get to capture the different scenes available last week.

The Top 20 images I've selected cover 5 days in a 6-day period (June 2 - June 7............whatever I shot on June 4 didn't make the cut).

The first post covers June 2 and 3, the second covers June 5, 6, and 7 and everything is posted sequentially.

June 2

(First image) I thought this was a pretty good shot - something I might not top for the week. I don't think it even makes the Top 10 now.

June 3

This was the busiest day. There was other stuff I left out, like fireworks somewhere north of here.

The fifth shot is probably the most unusual and interesting shot of the week.............it looks like multi-layered weather. The sixth one HAD to be made into a B&W. The seventh one is a small plane coming into Teterboro and is still OVER the clouds. The Sears one looks like there's a waterfall or lava pit above the tower.

June 5

The first image is actually left over from June 3, but I couldn't fit it in the previous post because of the 10-pictures-per-post limit.

This was the day we were supposed to be able to see Venus cross the face of the sun, but the clouds didn't allow it. They DID, however, provide some fiery-looking images at sunset, including the fourth picture, which kind of looked like the entrance to Hell..............until I saw the cross(es) from the top of the church at Passaic and Summit in the middle.

June 6

June 6th and 7th were the rainbow days.

You can see Manhattan and a double-rainbow in the fifth picture. The sixth picture shows the rainbow from inside my living room with the window and screen slid open. The seventh picture just knocks me out.

June 7

The ninth picture shows a helicopter crossing the color spectrum and the last one shows (l-r above Hackensack): solid gray cloud cover, a rainbow, Manhattan, and clearing skies.
