Fire at 164 Stanley Place
« on: May 30, 2012, 04:09:22 PM »
I heard the sirens, hit the scanner, got the location, ran out on the roof, and got these shots. The heavy smoke didn't last long, so the HFD must have knocked it down in a hurry. I know that Teaneck - including its Box 54 unit - also responded.

In #3, you can see a southbound train on the left going slowly through the affected area.

I walked over to the scene about an hour after the fact.

164 Stanley Place is 2 houses west of Railroad Ave on the north side of the street.  Lots of fire/emergency vehicles were around, but this was over. There wasn't even a hint of smoke smell in the air. Guys were resting and hydrating.

I asked a couple firemen, but no cause for the fire was known at the time.
