I saw this tonight northeast of here and way beyond the horizon. It's not many instances that occurred during a long period of time - it happened all at once:

Do you use b/w for lightning because it shows contrast better?

When I shoot lightning in color, it sometimes looks kind of unnatural (translation: it looks like crap).

It winds up looking a lot better and is a lot easier to deal with if I just take out the color.

When Ol' Homer saw the photo for the first time, the first reaction was " Wow! What a great shot of City Hall one hour after the polls closed on Election Day.
