Paintball anyone?
« on: August 19, 2004, 09:47:01 PM »
My friend David asked me to post this...

Hello. I am a Sophomore at Hackensack High School. I had the idea of the school system to start up a paintball team. I have asked around and I have found out that there are a lot of people at the school that play this fun sport. A lot of sports statistics have also said that paintball as a sport has been found to have the lowest injury rate of most active sports. And yes that means lower than football and basketball and even golf. Here are some things that paintball players have said that they have learned when they play:

• Paintball teaches respect
• Paintball is a good source of stress relief and exercise
• Paintball teaches teamwork – learn to play with others as a group
• Paintball at the same time teaches you to work as an individual – many times we get stuck on our own and have to work through it.
• Paintball teaches decision making skills
• Paintball teaches sportsmanship
• Paintball teaches friendship

Here are some statistics that show how safe the sport of paintball really is.
The information I am going to show you was taken from this website http://www.f4og.com/safe.html

Is Paintball Safe
?

One of the most common "first questions" about paintball is "Is it safe?". Well, outside of an occasional bruise I have never been injured. I've seen 10-year-olds, teenage girls, and adults of all shapes, sizes, gender, and ages playing and having a wonderful time, and without injury. But, if you need some "numbers" to help in your decision to play paintball:
(Injury is defined as one which results in some degree of permanent impairment, or renders the injured person unable to effectively perform his regular duties or activities for at least one full day beyond the day of the injury.)
