Similar (Stimmel-ar?) image angle
« on: April 23, 2013, 07:00:36 PM »
I came across this 2009 George Stimmel thread recently - http://www.hackensacknow.org/index.php/topic,1028 - and the first picture reminded me of a shot I took at Foschini Park about 2 months ago and posted here: http://www.hackensacknow.org/index.php/topic,2618

It appears that George was a little tipsy in the park that day back in 1951.

Not only tipsy, but it's not an actual depiction of the riverfront. There's lots of artistic embelishment.  What's that huge grassy green area with trees along the river. Where's the auto dealerships, White Manna, and all the other commercial development ? Do they want people to think they weren't there in 1951.

With artistic license, an artist can paint whatever he wants, wherever he wants it and call it a still life. Nothing to get upset about.
