Former Hackensack Police Chief Ken Zisa may have been paid twice for unused sick time in 2010 – once in June 2010 amid public discussion about his payout and quietly, months earlier, as part of a large bond measure.

Several Hackensack police supervisors who were named in lawsuits against former Police Chief Ken Zisa were paid thousands for unused sick and vacation time under a $4.7 million bond ordinance in 2010.
