The City of Hackensack has donated a 1985 Mack Pumper truck to Bergen County for use as an instructional tool at the County’s fire academy in Mahwah.

Peter Hodge, director of the County’s Law and Public Safety Institute, said the truck will be “an excellent real world addition” to the instruction aides used to teach the complex and dangerous profession of firefighting.

The Academy trains nearly 5,000 firefighters in 280 courses each year.
