The Demise of the Hess Tank Farm in Bogota
« on: January 18, 2015, 02:47:14 PM »
I was hoping to get pictures of the Hess tanks being demolished, but had no idea about when that would happen.

On Friday morning, I read in the paper that demolition was almost complete. There was only one tank still standing, it said, so I drove right over to the Walkway by Costco.

Zero tanks were still standing.

I never thought I'd say this, but - for the moment at least - I think it looks uglier now. But soon enough, nice-looking apartments will be built and people will be fighting for the units with a view of Pro Auto Body Shop and the Eastern Concrete Materials factory on the other side of W. Fort Lee Rd.
