Last Sunday's quickie storm
« on: January 13, 2016, 08:01:48 PM »
A thin line of storms hit Hackensack on Sunday afternoon.

1. At 3:40pm, there were ominous clouds near the HUMC area.

2. Seven minutes later, it appeared to be raining by HUMC and racing northeast as the sun poked through.

3,4. Two minutes after that, it was hitting Kipp's Bend (3) and then me (4). Both were taken at 3:49. You can see the slanted raindrops in 4.

5,6,7. Thirteen minutes after that, the sun was out and so was the first rainbow of 2016, which seems to be landing on Cedar Lane in Teaneck, just west of CVS.

8,9,10. The rear end of the storm continues out of here to the northeast. NJ locations such as the Marlboro House in Ridgefield Park and a colorful apartment building in North Bergen stand out against darker NYC landmark buildings (432 Park Ave and 1 World Trade Center, respectively).

It was all over by 4:07.

I miss not having local pro football teams to watch on Sunday, so this was a weak substitute.
