Wasn't me. I saw VF last year at BergenPAC (they were great) and last saw BOC (a big 70s favorite) in 2007 - also at Bergen PAC. They blew away opener "Foghat" (I have to put the name in quotes - they weren't even close to being the old band and only had one original member - the drummer..............they were terrible).
I ran into Mayor LaBrosse at the most recent Main St Festival and suggested that he book BOC for the next one. Apparently, he's a fan because he asked me if I knew BOC's original name. He was surprised when I blurted out, "Soft White Underbelly".
Maybe there's hope.
Back to Bowie/Floyd: if anyone is a fan of Bowie's "Slip Away" from his "Heathen" album - the song about Uncle Floyd - there's a much better version on his earlier (and unreleased until recently) "Toy" album, called.....what else?....."Uncle Floyd". It's a lot less dirge-like and begins with a segment from an Uncle Floyd Show and has Oogie talking to Floyd. Floyd didn't offer that segment to Bowie - Bowie picked it himself as a fan.
Ladies and Gentlemen, "Uncle Floyd":
