Anybody know why............
« on: July 25, 2016, 03:33:33 PM »
............every interior light in the old Bank of America building on Main St has been on day(?) and night for at least the past week?

Aren't we supposed to be conserving electricity so everyone can run their ACs during this heat wave?

These shots are from two nights last week.

Interior renovations. Complete gut. Nice to see the lights on. Means crews are working.

I've been looking at this scene every night for the last 3 weeks. There are around 60 well-lit windows visible from my perspective.

That makes a total of almost 1,300 window views over that period and during all that time, I have not seen a single person or silhouette of a person in any of the rooms.

It doesn't appear that ANYTHING is being done in those rooms 24/7.

And it does still look like a massive waste of electricity.

Work is happening.  I see it when I'm on Main Street

Various trades are probably coming and going at all hours.  OSHA regulates lighting: https://www.osha.gov/pls/oshaweb/owadisp.show_document?p_table=STANDARDS&p_id=10630.

Better safe than sorry. My guess is these are energy efficient bulbs.

The City's construction official should be able to provide the answer.

I'm a contractor.  Those aren't energy-efficient bulbs.  They are high-power Halogen lights, and each light generates enough heat to quickly make a fire. I had a worker overturn one by mistake in a customer's attic once. It nearly caused a fire in mere seconds.
