Funny too, the overhanging street lamp wasn't there in 85

The light was probably there, but two things could have made is seem to not be there:

1. The angle that the photo was taken could have cropped it out.

2. The Pinto had just knocked it down.

Also, I always liked the "older" style street signs we had. The more narrow dark blue metal with the white lettering, in a metal frame. They would age and get yellowish, the metal would start to rust...the signs would bend a bit on top of the post. When they started changing to the bigger blue signs with no frame I remember one on the corner or Vreeland Ave and Jackson Ave by Immaculate Conception Church was a long time hold out to be changed.

Being a Hackensack Boy and ex butcher and actually worked a day or two there.
My Dad new the owner and considered buying the store.
Owner had a drinking issue.
