Today's paper appears to have been made in two different halves by two different companies in two different sizes.

The front sections are 11" x 22" and the back sections are 12" x 21".

The first two pictures show the measured widths. The third picture also deals with width as it shows what the folded paper looks like, with the back sections sticking out an extra inch on the left.

You'd think that they'd have uniformity figured out after almost 130 years.

Boy, they are really messing up lately.

1. First, there was this notice on the front page of today's paper. It mentions deadline problems - time-related issues that did not prepare me for what was (or wasn't) inside.

2. The only time-related issue here is that it's time to find the colored inks. Black-and-white comics? C'mon! (BTW - they're fully-colored in the online edition.............is this another stunt to push people to digital-only?). I included the full-color front page of the main section in the photo to show that I didn't remove the comics' color.

3. I recycle my newspapers by collecting them in a paper bag and alternating where the fold of each paper is, so they don't pile up lopsided. That generally evens the pile vertically.............until you get to the "we-forgot-how-to-fold-a-paper-in-half" editions of the last 3 days.

What's next? White ink newsprint on white paper?

The Record is really screwing up the print editions these days. One day, they had one comics page in color and the other one in B&W.

But they're not doing themselves any favors with making some ads color and some B&W.

In today's paper, there was a full page ad for sleep chairs. Online, these chairs cost $2,000 each, so I would think the seller would want everything just right in their newspaper ads.

The first pic shows the ad.............uh, oh - B&W! But the kicker is in the bottom right corner (second pic - click to enlarge).

I don't know about you, but I'm kinda torn between the burgundy, the chocolate and the blue.
