The "Coro de San Miguel Arcangel" Ecuadorian procession
« on: October 10, 2017, 06:32:12 PM »
On Saturday, September 30 - and just a couple of hours after the water main road excavations in front of my building were filled - I heard a familiar sound.

It was another Ecuadorian parade/procession coming down Passaic St and turning onto Union - à la the Our Lady of the Cloud one that occurs every January 1. The composition of the participants and their dancing/marching/costumes were almost the same.

I had no idea what this one was about until I took the fifth picture and I can't find anything that explains its significance ("Coro de San Miguel Arcangel"  translates to "Chorus of St Michael the Archangel").

They continued on to Anderson St, made a left and I presume they went on to Holy Trinity Church.

The next morning, I heard loud music coming from the direction of Anderson Park, but I couldn't see anyone there. Later that afternoon, while I was on Anderson St, I heard that it was coming from the Holy Trinity Church parking lot, so I walked over there, stood in front of lots of seated people and took a single shot.

I think the small statue behind the singer is the same one that was carried in the Saturday procession - St Michael the Archangel.
