The writer is Jay Levin of Teaneck. He was the local obituary writer at The Record of Woodland Park (formerly Hackensack) who was laid off by Gannett last year. Unfortunately, his article doesn't discuss all of the tax-exempt and non-profit property in Hackensack that inflates the bills of home and business owners. That omission is glaring considering the piece ran in the Real Estate section.

And he only mentions in passing the biggest quality of life issue in the city -- noisy business and celebrity jets that are always flying over the Fairmount section and Prospect Avenue high-rises.
