Victor E Sasson:
So The Record and NorthJersey.com first published a story reporting the proposed school budget as $112 million, then revised that to $117 million, the correct amount. The point that should be made is that local school taxes are NEARLY HALF of your property tax bill. Still, hardly no one votes in school elections, and the people who do vote don't seem to realize they can reject the tax levy and the budget will be reviewed by the City Council, which can cut it or leave it as is. Here's my take on the school election, which is yet another referendum on the Zisas:

Victor E Sasson:
IF THE PAST IS ANY GUIDE, MORE THAN 90% OF THE REGISTERED VOTERS WILL IGNORE TUESDAY'S SCHOOL ELECTION: That will be the case, even though nearly half of your property taxes go to support the schools:

What's your excuse for not voting?

Victor E Sasson:
Polls open at 2 p.m. to elect three members of the Board of Education and vote "yes" or "no" on the proposed $117 million budget, which uses nearly half of your property taxes.

So, please get off your ample tushes and vote.
