OK, the Three Dads were elected on Tuesday to three 3-year seats on the Board of Education, according to unofficial results from the Bergen County Clerk's Office.

Michael R. Oates received 1,396 votes.
Anthony F. Rodriguez got 1,402 votes.
Christopher M. Coleman received 1,413 votes.

3 ballots were blank.

The winning candidates were endorsed by the mayor and City Council.

The other candidates, who were at the top of ballot in positions 1, 2 and 3, trailed by 1,042 votes (Jennifer Maury); 983 votes (David Dungey) and 994 votes (Monica Pelaez).

The $85 million tax levy to support the school budget passed, as it has in all of the years I've lived in Hackensack, as residents again said we want to pay more property taxes to support our local schools, 1,189 yes votes to 693 no votes.

School taxes are 45% of your local property tax bill.

Turnout was higher this year than in 2018 and 2019, but still pathetic, considering more than 20,000 voters are registered in Hackensack.
