Mom comes through again!
I just found two little 3"x2" pictures in an old photo album - the type of album whose black pages seem to be made of carbon powder. My fingers were black after going through it.
The first (somewhat-out-of-focus) picture shows a marching band and the better second one shows a group of Brownies. In the background is the Fox Theater marquee (can't read the movie names), a soda shop or luncheonette that appears to begin with "STE", a Mercedes car dealership (all I can see is ".......Motors") and a place called "Teen Towners".
Usually, Mom wrote lots of info under each shot, but this album had no info at all. I dislodged the photos to scan them and found "May 30, 1963" on the back of each and "Troop #730" on the Brownie one.
It turns out that the troop was Holy Trinity Troop #730 and my then-HTS-3rd-grader sister Geri is one of the Brownies - why my mother was there. I found no other pictures of this parade.
"Well, I saw my kid................time to go home".
