Preserving the landmark Sears building is in doubt

Essentially, the company that now owns Sears' assets wants to do as it pleases with this property and Hackensack wants to preserve the iconic building.

I can't imagine Hackensack without this 90-year-old landmark.

A few years ago, YMCA officials said they had their eyes on the Sears building and would like to move there and expand.

I hope as well that they preserve it...i was driving past it with my wife and we both had the same thought, that it would eventually become a condo or apartment building  >:(
