From today's "Your Views" in The Record:

I was outraged by Editorial Cartoonist Jimmy Margulies' March 9 cartoon concerning the fight between Bergen County Democratic Chairman Joseph Ferriero and state Sen. Loretta Weinberg of Teaneck.

Ferriero, an Italian-American, is considered by many to be one of the most successful county chairmen in the state. The cartoon, a takeoff of a scene from "The Godfather," implies that Ferriero's success is the result of mob tactics against his adversaries.

I am shocked to see that kind of ethnic attack on the editorial page of a major newspaper. Both The Record and Margulies owe Ferriero and the Italian-American community an apology.
