Seventeen students have been nominated to represent the 5ive 6ix School and the Hackensack Community at this year's 2006 Junior National Young Leaders Conference in Washington, D.C.

During the 6 day Conference exceptional students from around the country will take part in the interactive program, themed “The Legacy of American Leadership”.  Students will partake in programs that focus on leadership concepts, as well as the characteristics of great leaders through collaborative projects and presentations. They will also participate in a panel discussion with Congressional Staff Members, enabling them to interact with many prominent national leaders.  Attendance will allow them to further develop leadership knowledge and skills that will benefit Hackensack in the future.

These students were chosen for their high academic standing and their ability to demonstrate leadership skills, which will only be enhanced by attending this conference.  The JNYLC a member of the Congressional Youth Leadership Council which is a non-profit, nonpartisan educational organization that since 1985 has inspired more than 200,000 young people to achieve their full leadership potential.

The participation of these 17 students of Hackensack depends raising funds totaling $29,000 in sponsorships. This includes conference tuition of $1,700 for each student, not including travel costs.
The students are vigorously working on fundraising, and the help of our community is vital to achieve their fundraising goal.
