The BCUA holds HHW days in the Fall and Spring at three locations throughout Bergen County. The sites open at 9:00 a.m. and close at 3:00 p.m. (rain or shine). This program is offered free of charge to Bergen County residents. Proof of residency is required.

House - Aerosol cans, bleach, chemistry kits, nail polish, polish removers, perfumes, disinfectants, drain cleaners, floor wax, mercury thermometers, moth balls, oven cleaner, smoke detectors, spot remover, toilet cleaner, fire extinguishers, thermostats, friable asbestos.
Workshop - Corrosives, paints (oil and latex based), small compressed-gas cylinders, solvents, stains strippers, thinners, varnish, wood preservatives, fluorescent bulbs, photographic chemicals, household batteries, aerosol cans, mineral spirits, shellacs, and turpentine.
Garden/Yard - Algacides, ant and roach powder, bug sprays, fertilizers, fly strips, garden and dust sprays, fungicides, herbicides, pesticides, pool chemicals and driveway/roof sealers.
From the Garage - Antifreeze, Auto batteries, motor oil, degreasers, waste fuels – gasoline, transmission fluid, brake fluid, kerosene, waxes, polishes, and used motor oil mixed with other fuels, oil filters
Miscellaneous - Artist's paints and mediums, BBQ propane cylinders, chemistry sets, fiberglass epoxy, gun cleaning solvents.
