I was driving thru my old haunts yesterday and noticed amongst all the new street signs there is one holding true to my childhood. Even the Hudson Street/Maiden Lane "intersection" got a new big and bold blue one but my old corner is hanging onto yesteryear

Hackensack Discussion / Aldi's Main St

Hey gang, curious if anyone here shops there. I've been going to either that one or the one in Lodi and personally I like Hackensack better.
The cashiers are always super fast and efficient, prices are good too. It's a little disappointing though when I think that if on a Saturday I needed to go food shopping and maybe pickup something from Sears you can't anymore....anyway  :(

Regrettably I never took any photos of the front before they took the sign down, so passing by there today on South Summit I happened to see (what I thought was) the name on the side of the building...

Hackensack Discussion / Woolworth Residences

So it appears we're going "retro" as well as modern with this new building going up? I saw the sign on Main St yesterday and the building is under construction. No images are on line yet though.
Is this at the exact spot where Woolworth's was? I thought the original building was now a dollar type store now..

Unused book of matches from Guido's. I don't remember exactly when it became the Stony Hill but it must have been late 80's/early 90's I'm guessing?

Hackensack Discussion / 210 Main Street

Just looking around on NJMLS I saw the "chic" new 210 Main apartment complex...wow they are beautiful but really pricey! The description was "the new wave of living in Hackensack". Has anyone seen this new spot in person?

Hi gang, this was a little before my time I'm guessing...anyone remember a little place behind Solari's (or somewhere in that area) named Hook Fin, or something to that effect?

Hey gang, visited this place on Saturday...it's run by a friend of my girlfriend. She's a very nice woman and is helping out the community with her studio. (It's a non-profit organization) In case you know someone looking for a place for children to learn how to dance, check it out. And it's close to B & W Bakery too, so a crumb cake isn't far away  :P

Hackensack Discussion / Phiefer's/Attili's
« on: January 07, 2017, 03:58:49 PM »
Hey gang, I had to run an errand in Bogota this morning and decided to pass thru Main St looking for the old Phiefer's and discovered Attili's Grille....great breakfast at a reasonable price. I hadn't been inside the place since I was a kid... They kept the old Phiefer's signs on the inside and even had one of the old menu's which I snapped a pic of to post here. Has anyone tried their food yet?
