It could be State & Atlantic. It looks like the Station Louie Luppino owned and my Grandfather had an account there in the 1960's. Louie Luppino moved his business to the Southwest corner of South State & Lodi Sts.
Hope that helps

It appears that Dante's will open under the name of Frankie's Pizza at the
old House of Pizza site. Big sign in the window.

Also " The Deli Imporium " took down a hugh tree abd there is a dumpster out front - Reno work?? I guess they gave up on the Condo idea.

 Landlord and other issues.

It looks like Dante's Pizza of Ridgefield Park is taking over the space.
Cardboard in the windows, Dumpster in the rear and some renovation taking place - I'm not seeing a Permit in the window.

I'm hoping the Landlord will do some exterior work but I doubt it.

By the way... How about the color of the old Waterloo Sue's???
It rivals Dom Pomadoro's

Mine went up 24% - an increase of $ 1651.80 and I am NOT happy.
I've spoken to several people who's Taxes went down. I'm told that the house on the N.E. corner of Summit & Anderson almost doubled.

 A related story;
About 20 years ago, I was reading through the Fire Journals of the Teaneck Fire Depatments Station #3 located on Morningside Terr off De Graw Ave.  I found that in the late 1930's they responded to a car fire on De Graw Ave by Queen Anne Rd. They stretched their hoses, started to put the fire out when the Trolly came along and sliced the hoses. The Trolly kept going and heads rolled when they returned to their Station.
 I found it somewhat amusing.

I'll not allow that to happen again -- that's for sure.
It's difficult to observe their self destructive behavior on a daily basis.

I'm sorry to hear about the problem for those Homeless who need Rehab. I'm also sorry to hear that all the creative mind of those who run these programs can't come up with a solution to this problem and a solution is needed.
My Office and home are around the corner from the Orchard St center and my business neighbors and I deal with the problems of the Drinking Homeless on a daily basis. I've found them sleeping on my front porch at night and on my front steps in the late afternoon. On June 18, 2006 one lady walked into my home having to walk up 21 steps to do so. She asked to use my bathroom ( how could I refuse ) she fell and broke the toilet seat. I escorted her back down the 21 steps to the Public sidewalk. I spoke to her for a few minutes and she said she would talk to a Councelor about Rehab. Needless to say -- she is still walking the area today.

Hackensack Discussion / Re: State Champion Trees in Hackensack
« on: June 07, 2006, 12:22:13 PM »
I spoke to Dr. Santucci this morning. He said the Red Lion Inn tree was cut down in 1981 - 1982. The sound of chainsaws woke him up that morning and the tree was down in a flash.
I was there the night the Red Lion Inn burned down
( 1971 - 1972 ). Everyone was upset about losing the Inn but we all thought that we lost the tree to the radiant heat from the fire as well. Then we lost it to the chainsaw 10 years later. It should have been saved!

Have you seen the tree at the rear of 547 Main St (Dr. Santucci's office ). I believe it's a Copper Beech. It reminds me of the tree the stood in front of the old Red Lion Inn.

There was one on Temple Ave next to the cleaners where the newer building stands. I remember it in the summer of 1962.

I read that Eric Martindale turned in 11 properties to be checked out.  Does anyone have the list?
