Title: Sun Powered Schools
Post by: wetochwink on March 02, 2005, 09:47:57 AM
Record Article: Sun Powered Schools (http://www.northjersey.com/page.php?qstr=eXJpcnk3ZjczN2Y3dnFlZUVFeXk2MDkmZmdiZWw3Zjd2cWVlRUV5eTY2NjAxNzUmeXJpcnk3ZjcxN2Y3dnFlZUVFeXkz)

Does anyone know if our BOE applied for this initiative?

Excerpt from another article about a solar project at Bayonne Schools:

The project will lower the BOE's energy bill. The board will also receive a significant rebate for the project.

"I can't wait to see the meter running backwards," BOE president William Lawson said at a board agenda session this week.

At the Leauge of Municipalities Convention a few months ago, a few solar panel companies got a booth to promote this idea.  Seems like solar may finally be viable.  I think the BOE should at least entertain the idea.  Perhaps there is more grant money available.
