For awhile there was an Alfa Romeo dealership there in the 90's...I don't remember if it was owned by Joseph's (who replaced Ratner) or if it was a new owner, but yeah it didn't last long

I met "Hackensack Jack" a few times in the 80's while working at Guy-Ross Chevrolet...from what I remember I think he owned either our building, or the property, along with one of the Stillman's (from Stillman-Hoag Buick in Englewood). His dealership was pretty small, right across the street from Lido's, on that corner where the bank and (I think) the Quick Chek is now.

Is that the building on the corner of Green St? If so, what is that building used for now? I remember hearing it was a sort of rehab center for children?

That's cool that you still have one, I always liked answering machines...they were always on display at all the stores, Bradlees..Valley Fair..pretty pricey back in their day too..good luck with the repairman

I remember that day very well. I was working at Guy-Ross Chevrolet, and we heard about it as soon as it happened. Fire trucks everywhere, River St was practically shut down. The original report was that the fire started in the parts department attic, and as a result we had to relocate all our upstairs inventory to a lower floor.

I've always wondered about Teterboro....the small stretch of homes there on Huyler Street, I've never seen one for sale.

Hey gang...there was a small pizza place on Vreeland Ave just up the street from Immaculate Conception church, close to the intersection of Taylor Ave. It was like a converted house (which they later made back into a house after it closed)...anyone remember this place? I remember playing pinball in there, mid to late 70's

Does anyone remember a pizzeria on Essex St close to the cross street of either Newman St or Railroad Ave, I believe the name was La Bella Napoli? I'm thinking mid to late 70's

I remember as a freshman in high school (1982) getting off the 165 bus on my way to Bergen Tech, stopping there in the morning just as they were opening and getting coffee before heading over to school. They also had a travel agency in the entrance way which is where I booked a Florida vacation in 1987. I never ate at the Print Room though, although I do remember it...the had all their shopping carts loaded in under the entrance way in the alcove and we'd sit there waiting for it to open...good times!
