how long and how much?  I'm sure it will be more than what is paid on the property now, but what about the long term.

thank the federal government and their rules on nutrition for the food in the schools.  as long as its "healthy" taste doesn't come into the equation.

remember those days, you couldnt stand in the middle of the street and see the sky.  all those trees were planted when they built the first two houses in 1893. only a few of the originals still stand.

so many trees are gone from Euclid Ave now, its hardly recognizable from when we grew up.  used to be one huge tree dead center of each property and one on each corner of the property.  80% are now gone.

actually a county dispatch is not in the best interest of the citizens of individual towns.  you will have delays in dispatching units where they are needed. it wont so much happen in single family homes IF they use their home phone where the ANI/ALI screen picks up the location of the caller(I use my cell in the house most of the time-as do many people).  it will definitely happen with cell phone callers because a call taker in Mahwah has no idea where you are when you freaking out standing in front of Fred's market and there is a guy bleeding to death on the sidewalk.  the local calltaker WILL because it is usually a police officer taking the call or a civilian in a room supervised by a police officer working other duties and they know exactly where Fred's market is and will immediately dispatch the call where it supposed to go. Cell callers are not easily pinpointably locatable in a fast amount of time.  all you get is the location of the tower the person's call got picked up on.  to triangulate the location between three towers to find a specific location takes a good amount of time,  and when someone's dying in the street or getting chased out a window because fire is licking at their ass, they dont have time for that.

130 overlook would be the vantage point.  the buildings at bottom left are 265 and 275 beech st.  right center is 65 first st.  60 kansas is left center, 211 essex is just below right of that. the church on Vreeland at the off ramp is mid center left.  the projects on Newman st are lower center.  one thing that is off is that the buildings at 175 Railroad and 164 beech st are low mid left, they would really be out of the normal field of vision.

always there.  if you look at the google earth image, the awning between Marc's pizza and the Riviera has the address of 306, but that should be 308, since Marc's is 306. Marc's used to be the Riviera Pizza. The Riviera lounge expanded when Wilson's went out of business, Wilsons used to be wider than the space now occupied by the travel service.  the seam in the front stucco wall of the Riviera is where Wilson's began.  the store on the other side of the pizza place used to by Record King, he moved across the street to a smaller place.

I have one of the last pieces of the building, a 10 inch section of the floor with an enormous nail sticking out of it.

typical of the record to post a picture of something that happened two years ago, which is when the flooded car was photographed on River st under the railroad bridge.

an 1897 entry from the book Bergen County Panorama

"and Krone Brothers began turning out educational
books and school stationery at Hackensack, where, shortly after-
wards, the large William Campbell Wall Paper Company located"

the packards building was the wallpaper factory.  I have seen photos of the building on the internet, one of the shots was a shot from southwest to northeast. the name William B Campbell Wallpaper was clearly painted on the south facing side of the building.   if you look close at the illustration provided here, you see the main building and the outbuildings on temple ave, along with the stack that was closer to Hackensack Ave.
