Title: HUMC room with a view
Post by: BLeafe on December 11, 2017, 05:37:02 PM
So I was in HUMC undergoing something serious that rhymes with "whipple high class" (you remember Mr. Whipple, right?).

After a couple of days in the ICU, I had a small private hospital room with a view of the building that houses the ER, but all I could see was its green-mirror-windowed upper floors. Of course, I had my camera with me, but the photo pickins were slim. There were a couple of semi-interesting rooftop items and some of the window reflections were kind of trippy, but there was ONE cool shot that proved to be fairly difficult to get.

I'm sure you've seen helicopters landing at HUMC. It turns out that they land on the building that I was in. You could hear them when they arrived and departed, but it was nearly impossible to see one. I lucked out for a second or two when I saw a chopper reflection in the green mirror windows and just barely got a shot of it (last pic).

I have no idea why it looks like it was wrapped in netting.

To finish the story: After a couple of days in the hospital, they send you for a stay at a cardiac rehab facility for a couple of weeks and then you go home................and here I am.

Welcome back. Hope your feeling better. Your contributions have been missed. I used to work at HUMC when I was teen during around 75-77 time frame, as a dishwasher. It actually paid pretty good for the day, over $8 an hour for P/T work after school. Back then though, it was not a medical center, it was only a hospital. Guess that's just a term used nowadays though, like calling my vehicle an automobile instead of a car.
