Sad news, I remember him. He always answered the phone so cheerfully...."Coast auto, Andy!"
70 Barracuda, 73 Road Runner, 72 Chevelle, 73 Challenger....all driven with Coast's parts

I used to go to Paul's sometimes too...I lived on New St at the time. When I lived on Hudson street my favorite spot was Frontier deli on the corner of Hudson and Moonachie Rd. They had great tuna salad and chicken salad subs

Taste of Italia is the name I most remember (I knew there was one specific I had forgotten)
I was a big Hanks Franks fan back in the day, I don't remember the place across the highway though. Hanks had great egg creams too. That was a regular Saturday stop for me in the 80's

When I say "changing times" I meant it for that part of town (Lodi St)...there were a few Italian deli/markets in that area that one by one seemed to close, or become something else.

Good point, personally I felt that once Foschini bakery closed (or just changed names?) it was a true sign of the changing times. Does anyone know if they still have that little Italian feast every summer on Holt St between Lodi St and Broadway?

I remember that place, great meatball parm subs...I was only in there a few times as a kid but great that it's still there, not much of the "old neighborhood" type places left

Hey gang, I was curious if anyone remembered the name of the place on the corner of Lodi St and So. State St many years ago, I think it was Daddy-O's or something like that? It changed names many times..curious if anyone remembers the name changes. Also the place on the corner of Lodi and Green St. Another "many turnover" spot. I can't help thinking that particular spot would get flooded a lot. Also there was an italian restaurant north of that corner who's name I can't remember..

That's crazy for WM to be EMPTY...everytime I've gone in there it's packed in like sardines (like an anxiety attack waiting to happen) hahaha

As a kid I remember the "Joint Venture" downstairs at the Bergen Mall.....

It was 1981 for sure cause it was right before I graduated grammar school, if I recall correctly either May or June. I remember it was very "adult" in it's theme and was surprised but it was a total hoot!

After being a fan of the show since 1980 I finally got to meet Mugsy in 1992 when the band I was in at the time was on his spinoff show,The 11th Hour.
One of my greatest memories as a kid was seeing the Uncle Floyd show live at the Playhouse on the Mall at the Bergen Mall in 1981
