Slight retrospective (to get everything in one thread):

1. This is my initial shot of the 435 Main (former Holman Moving) project demolition, taken across Anderson St from the Second Reformed Church's parking lot on 10-12-18. The crane had been sitting there for a couple of weeks and the sheeting (for asbestos remediation?) that was there the morning I shot this was gone by afternoon. This should have been the first shot in this thread.

2. I wish I could say I used a drone, but the second shot was actually taken from the top of the Sears tower on 5-17-12. Obviously, I wasn't aiming at Holman, but rather at my neighborhood, my building and the high-rises in the background. Fortunately, most of Holman made it into the shot.

Hackensack Discussion / Re: Area in need of Rehabilitation

<< A six-story complex is now on the books for 430 Main Street in Hackensack’s downtown. Located at the corner of East Anderson Street, the property used to contain Pro Auto Repair until the business closed  >>

That repair shop was an Amoco gas station back in the 60s. Sometime around 1967, I worked there at night for a short while and half of the people I pumped gas for were girls I knew (or wanted to know) who also rode up and down Main St every night ("cruisin' the drag").

Back to the sad, sorry show - and thank you to anyone reading this who manages to trudge through it all and understands why this all needs to be out there. Hopefully, at least one of the people reading this works at The Record, is in a position of authority and does not appreciate how the paper currently looks to anyone with a decent command of the language.

The Fives & Flubs carnage continues:

Hackensack Videos / Meanwhile, over at the Foschini Park Fish Crow Festival.........

I've never seen (or heard) as many fish crows as I did today at Foschini. Knowing a tiny bit about them, I'll bet they never got a permit from the city.

It's probably a pre-Super Bowl party and since they're so annoying, I know what team they're fans of.

Crank it up to hear all the profane cheers.

My eyes glaze over just trying to take in all the stuff you post, and it's extremely repetitive. Seems like you have nothing better to do.

Well, DUH! OF COURSE it's repetitive when they keep making the same mistakes. And it will remain repetitive as long as they continue to do so.

I have nothing better to do? Boy, you really DON'T pay attention, do you.  I recently wrote that I spent an entire week shooting over a thousand pictures and 3 dozen videos of the Holman demolition and a second week editing every picture and condensing all the videos down to one. That's not a complaint - I'm happy to capture every bit of future history that appeals to me - but it's quite time-consuming.

And then there's the time spent responding to your inattentive, glazed-over eyeballs while mine roll skyward...............

I took this about 40 minutes ago.

Haven't seen one like this in a while.
