Many Hackensack residents spent a good part of Sunday trying to dig out their cars and find other parking. Rosemary Parmalee and about six of her neighbors on Prospect Avenue said they each found a $40 ticket left on their windshields at 8 a.m. and were in danger of getting more if they didn't move their vehicles. Street parking is banned when it snows.
"But there's nowhere to park. All the side streets had piles of snow blocking you from even driving on them," Parmalee said. "I'm parked now in an office parking lot, and I don't know if I'll get a ticket there. I'm going to fight the one I got -- where are you supposed to park your car?"
