Jimi Hendrix' "Hackensack Blues" LP

http://xrl.us/HackensackBlues

Seller's description:

This album is very clean with only very light wear, visible only if held up to a light. Nice shiny vinyl. Cover is in good condition as well, with only the beginnings of some ring wear at the very top and bottom. No split seams.

The only surface noise is at the beginning of Drivin’ South and during parts of Get Out Of My Life. Otherwise, a pretty clean playing record. I’ve not attempted to clean this disc with fluids.

There is an excellent explanation of these recordings on the “Drivin’ South” album review at: http://pagesperso-orange.fr/hendrix.guide/before.htm

OK, kids - here's your chance! This is worth it just for the cover. This should be framed and hanging in City Hall. Since that'll never happen, let me be the first to suggest that it hang in the Hackensack History Museum/Cultural Center or whatever the Masonic Hall becomes.

I'm wondering if that family that was involved in the illegal booze operation of the 1920's is the same family that owns the Underwood Corporation that leases parking spaces on State Street.  Maybe they picked that "Underwood" name for the new corporation because someone in their family past was involved in that illegal booze operation called "Underwood".  And they just thought that it would be appropriate.   Just pure speculation.

OK - I know what you're talking about, but it doesn't say anywhere that ANY family was involved.

It just said booze was destroyed - not whose it was.

UNDERWOOD !!!   There's that name again in connection with Hackensack.
I wonder if there is any family connection between this illegal booze and the Underwood Corporation that leased the city's parking lot on State Street, near Camden Street.

HIGHLY doubtful:

However, his pal Rocky wandered off and hooked up with the coyote that was sighted earlier.

I just found this and it closes tonight at 10:31pm. It's got 5 bids and it's up to $15.50 at the moment, so if you want it, hurry. You can't sell any prints or make any money from it without working something out with the seller because he retains the copyright, but you can make prints for yourself or to give away to friends.

The seller is Hackensack firefighter Mike Martinelli - a real good guy. If you like firetruck images from all over, he's your man.

This is the same vehicle that was shown/discussed in the "2009 Columbus Day Parade" thread.

Gee thanks, but that's not my style. Opening night at the Joint in the Woods Cafe will do because they already booked someone to open the place that I prefer. The poster for it has already been made:

Correction: The old Joint in the Woods club was not on Rt 17 - it was in Parsippany.

I was thinking of the Hole in the Wall club on 17. Anyone remember the big painting of a hole in the wall on the front wall where you could "see" what was going on inside the club?

Great 70s club names. The worst local 70s club name? "The Cuss from Hoe" on Paramus Rd, Paramus.

if Mr. Leafe can dress as a Great Horned Owl and sit in a tree

Been there, done that.

In exchange for this childhood photo of me, Ol' Homer has agreed , in return, to pose in this costume:

That oughta be a real hoot! Can't wait to see THAT post!

Because of all the requests, I took my magic cellcam to Borg's Woods very early this morning and found a whole variety of owls there:

I even found one with justwatching's red fox:

As I was leaving, I captured a silhouette of the deer and turkeys against the light of the rising sun:

That's it.........I'm done. I hope you're all happy now, because I'm not going back there until you all buy me dinner at the grand opening of the new Joint in the Woods Cafe.

Bon appétit!

This measures 5 3/8" x 6.25" and the foldout map is really interesting.

The real challenge at Borg's is to photograph the red fox. And the Blue-Ribbon Award goes to whoever can photograph a 20-lb Great-Horned Owl. I wonder if Mr. Labrosse or Mr. Leafe is up to that challenge ???

Lemme get this straight: you want me to photograph a Great Horned Owl and then ask it to step on a scale and that it better tip 20 pounds or else I don't get..........a ribbon?

I'll pass. It's all yours, John.

And, yes, it would be a real challenge to photograph Redd Foxx, who's been dead for 18 years.
