A photo caption is supposed to give helpful information about the picture. This is an incredibly dopey-assed caption that's off in so many ways that the only thing that's accurate is that it shows Todd Frazier. There's nothing else that connects this picture to anything in the caption after his name. For all we know, Todd could be saying, "Look! Up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane...".

You can see that the date of publication is today - Monday, June 4, 2018, so the "Monday" mentioned in the caption can't be today, right? That means it would have to be last Monday - if it was any further back, it would need a date. But the Mets weren't in Cincinnati last Monday............they were in Atlanta.

Why go to such lengths to make up irrelevant nonsense that any sports fan can see right through?

The Record's style has always been to use the day of the week, not "tomorrow" and "yesterday." So, you can say something will take place "today," but otherwise, you say "Sunday" or "Tuesday" and so forth. Still, under Gannett, numerous stories have been published with the wrong time element. Stories seem to be taken from the website and put in the print edition without changes, including any copy editing to fix the time element. A real shit show.

Hackensack Discussion / Re: Sears Future
« Last post by ericmartindale on May 31, 2018, 10:56:16 PM »
The city would be smart to create a Planned Unit Development (PUD) for the Sears property, with a density bonus exceeding the current zoning for the main lot, and their parking lot on the east side of River Street should be transferred to the City of Hackensack and added to Johnson Park, at no cost. This is legal, it can be done.

People think that parking lot is part of the park. It is not. It would be an ugly jolt to the City of Hackensack if that parking lot was ever developed. Now is the time for smart planning on this one.

I really loved Packards...

amazing to see the quality of neighborhood homes before they were torn down to build schools and parking lots. I hadn't seen about half of these.  I would love to see the homes where the Middle School ball fields are.
