actually...  State St. south of the tracks has always had more business than residential.  the only houses from Atlantic St to the tracks were in the block between Lawrence and Atlantic and the the building that currently houses C town has been a food market since the 1930's.  the cleaners next door has been a cleaners since the 1940's. The medical imaging building across the street has been there since the 1940's as well. it used to be an A&P.  going south from Atlantic to Essex the east side of the street had houses only from Bergen St. to Morris St. and then 2 houses between Morris St. and Essex St. the rest was industrial/commerical. 86 State st was a typewriter shop since the 40's with a house behind it. there was 1 house to the north of it. south of it was a large fabric maker that burned down around 1970.

There is a lot of traffic eastbound on Central Ave that is looking to go to the following locations:

 (1) anywhere on Main Street from Mercer Street to Passaic Street
 (2) Moore Street
 (3) River Street northbound,
 (4) river street southbound, and
 (5) left on River Street, and then a right onto the Midtown Bridge Approach, and then across to Bogota.

Connecting Trinity Place to Mercer Street will allow all of these traffic connections to happen WITHOUT detouring cars all the way down to Atlantic Street.  Atlantic Street is busy enough with it’s own traffic and HUMC traffic.

Here’s how the flow would work, and signs could be placed to direct the flow:  Traffic eastbound on Central Ave can make a right turn at Union Street, and then a left turn at Trinity Place. Currently, when you reach State Street, you can’t get to Mercer Street because State Street is one-way south.  

last time I checked, taking Central Ave east to State St, turning South onto State St, crossing the tracks and making a left at the light will put you on Mercer St. 

1 Block on Mercer puts you at Main St.
2 blocks on Mercer puts you at Moore St.
3 blocks on Mercer puts you at River St.

no need to spend money to connect Trinity Pl. to Mercer St. for a Central Ave. escape...

nothing will ever happen in Hackensack in regard to this.  just take a look around the bus stops in the morning.  the 178 from Washington Heights comes over the cedar lane bridge and drops off kids by Sears, who then walk to the middle school.  Then you have the bus stop next to the 5-6 school.  lots ok kids get on those buses in the afternoon and dont get off at the last stop in Hackensack at Hudson & Moonachie Road.  Look at all of the out of state license plates around Fairmount and the Middle School at 3pm.  Look at the buses that go to Paterson in the PM.  nothing is being done at all, the status quo effect. 

If it were done right, the school system would easily lose 500-800 students that shouldnt be there in the first place. but nobody wants to do anything about it...

That is where Hackensack Golf Club was before they moved to Emerson in the 40's.  the Golf club was from the back side of the houses on Summit Ave to Central Ave to Passaic St. to Golf Pl. in Maywood.  The real estate was worth a fortune in Hackensack/Maywood then, so they moved to the sparsely populated Emerson.

you absolutely can vote for Mr. De Falco, and the rest of his slate.  This is not the first situation to arise like this, and it wont be the last in this country. YOU CAN STILL VOTE FOR HIM!!! 

now,  from what I understand, the Citizens for Change group has been telling voters at the polling places that they cannot vote for him. FOR SHAME ON THEM...They are doing nothing more than spreading absolute lies.
