Not a bad selection.
Either you are too young OR afraid to admit you ever cavorted at the Ivy House; listened to the piano player and hoisted [censored]tails with the lawyers and judges at the Colonial with brother Lou; went to the transvestites ball on the last night that the State Restaurant was open; or caught the male go go dancers at The New Bell.
Hackensack has had it's fair share of fine watering holes.
Homer....Yes your first assumption is right..... I'm too young ,,,,,54 years of age to be exact....But even at 54, my mind is lacking some of what it use to have,(maybe it's the side effects of drinking, which I don't do anymore)16 years havn't had more then a beer now and then with supper..
There are some establisments I can not remember...Like in the middle of main street, round about where the short-cut is to get to the Bus Transfer and it was next to the shoemakers shop, there was a nice little bar owened by a guy named Richie, had live bands some nights....I can't remember the name of that place for anything..I know Richie was from Hack, and sold the bar to go to Fla. and open a Hot Dog Stand...which I heard he did......any help...?
Theres a few more I can't remember...
Never knew the ones you mention of in Hackensack...it was before my time, Not afraid to admit it, I would have been right there with you.....
Charlamane
Dweets Place
Are you referring to the Charlmaree and Dweet's Royal Oak? Didn't Dweet's have a couple of name variations?
BLeaf....Yes I did mean Dweets Royal Oak Room
which is now Lazy Lannigans....Dweet had that and Dweets East over on Ceader Lane under the Path-Mark in Teaneck....
And yes, to your Question did I mean Charlmaree... Sometimes I can't remember and sometimes I can't spell...sometimes I just don't proof read my typing...which by the way I do with 2 fat fingers.......shoot me.
But its all good....
