Henry Grabe worked at Comfort Coal in the 1920s and was in charge of sales when he left in 1932 to establish the Henry Grabe Fuel Oil Co.
He was elected to the Hackensack City Council in 1939 and was chairman of the Community Chest in 1942.
He was a member of the Hackensack Golf Club, the Arcola Golf Club, the Oritani Field Club, the Chamber of Commerce, Christ Church in Hackensack and lived at 250 Summit Ave.
