I miss Checker Cab.....Have you tried to take a cab lately. ....it's impossible. ... they won't even pick you up, unless you are going to an airport. ..they don't want to move unless their going to make big bucks no more meter service. ....towns like secaucus, and Fort Lee ,Rutherford  still have cabs..... Hackensack. ....Forget it.....

It sounds to me like the Albanian Club which is now a Mosque on Vreeland Ave.( previously mentioned.)
 Might be Fat Joe's Childrens Theater from George Scudder's  book...it sure looks like it could have been a theater from the outside looking in. ..

Some interesting helicopters . And Ospreys flying in and out of  Teterboro back and forth  to the ships in the Hudson for Fleet Week.
I see people in The ospreys waving down to street level...
I guess  you have to be a friend of senator or congressman to get invited for a ride... I'd  love to .....

I will never forget the blizzard of January. .

That poor old lady was allowed to sit in her car and die during  the blizzard.... and they knew she was there, nobody thought enough to say sit in here... here have a cup of coffee.. let me call a family member  for you...call the police...do something. ..

She told them she was going  to sit in her car....

Thank You for sharing.... I have often wondered, She sounds like a wonderful  teacher, FMH was a great school to grow up in... not to take away from her and or your story.. But FMH had many good teachers over the years, ....i.e. Mr.Fox.,Mrs Layers.. for 2, it's a long time ago,  but many more. We were fortunate, for sure..

I Hope they never want to  change the name...
