Chris Vetsas, who owns Arena Diner on Essex Street, said he tried to contact Tucci recently to complain about a neighboring property owned by one of the developer's companies. An abandoned gas station sits there, at 9 Polifly Rd., just off Essex Street.
Such tracts, Tucci said, were in disrepair before he bought them. If anybody has any complaints about the properties, he suggested, maybe that person should buy them.
Vetsas said he's willing to buy the property to stir up some activity. But Tucci has not responded to his inquiry, Vestas said.
"It's terrible. It's been sitting there for a number of years," Vetsas said. "That's a disgrace for Hackensack, especially for a business like this."
I went to what was supposed to be a School Board Meeting Monday night at 7:30 at 355 State Street and find out it was postponed until tomorrow night at 7:30.
Walter H. Carroll: Three pieces of proof are required for registration, currently. Over 100 illegal students were discovered this year. Parents were charged tuition, so the taxpayers get some of that back.
In addition, Mr. Peter Tucci was acknowledged for his efforts as Chairman of the Economic Development Commission and was applauded for his years of service.
