I have this folder of local historical images that's been sitting on my desktop for ages. Since I'm home and a bit under the weather today and have nothing better to do, it's time to post them (2 posts).
Some of these exist elsewhere on the site, but I'm too lazy/cranky today to search for them all. On the plus side, some of these may be bigger/better that what we already have.
In no particular order, they are:
1, 2. 1906 PC of house at the corner of Passaic and First. If that's actually where this house was, it would have been on the SE corner.
3, 4, 5, 6. I KNOW some of these 1876 Bergen County Atlas pages are on this site, but perhaps these are bigger.
7. Hackensack Ford nameplate
8. 1911 Hackensack River by Oscar Bluemner (no location given)

(continued)
9. Old Arnold Constable image from "The Department Store Museum" (http://www.thedepartmentstoremuseum.org/)
10. (1915-1930) Main St looking north PC, probably taken from high up in the bank building at 210 Main. We've see this type of view - usually looking south - so this is a rarer card (and look at all the houses on Moore St).
11. And here's one of those "looking south" images, probably from the same time period.
12. Driving north on Main St (probably from the 70s)
13, 14. Medal from the 1933 dedication of the Hackensack Odd Fellows Temple
15. Undated Main and Mercer photo
16. Undated Packard's image. Provided info: "Packard's stairs down to the barber"
17. RR tower by Main St and across the tracks from the Fairmount Diner
18. Undated St. Mary's School PC. I KNOW we have this already on the site, but this may be a much-bigger version.
19. I'm pretty sure this is already on the site, but I include it because I’m always amazed that there was a horse carriage factory about 3 doors down on my block.
20. When the Green Caboose was actually green, circa 1972
21. Union Hose Co, #4

I really loved Packards...

photo #1 is one house west of the lot of the former 211 Passaic st, still there today, but altered with a closed in porch.

Took a Hackensack cruise through eBay and found these images. The Oritani one doesn't look familiar and I don't think I've ever seen the old bus terminal mistaken for an airline terminal before.
