Title: Wilson's Bicycle
Post by: Editor on January 03, 2013, 11:40:11 AM
Someone sent me the Schwinn bicycle pictures below for posting.

Was Wilson's always at 308 Main Street? I remember it being farther north. I went a few times as a kid in the 70's, early 80's. I had a Schwinn Srambler.

(Thanks Megan).

always there.  if you look at the google earth image, the awning between Marc's pizza and the Riviera has the address of 306, but that should be 308, since Marc's is 306. Marc's used to be the Riviera Pizza. The Riviera lounge expanded when Wilson's went out of business, Wilsons used to be wider than the space now occupied by the travel service.  the seam in the front stucco wall of the Riviera is where Wilson's began.  the store on the other side of the pizza place used to by Record King, he moved across the street to a smaller place.

Thanks.  Good bike shops are hard to come by these days.  Would love to see one in Hackensack again. Hackensack Cycle was located somewhere on the other side of Main Street at one point in the late 80's but only stayed open for a short while as I recall.
