HACKENSACK, N.J. (WPIX) - A three-alarm fire in a Hackensack building forced tenants to flee from the flames early Thursday morning. The blaze started in a first floor restaurant kitchen attached to a high-rise apartment building, fire officials said.
"The men had a tough time making the restaurant due to the sprinkler activation. It did activate but it did not directly hit the fire," said Hackensack Fire Department Deputy Chief Andrew Pawlick.
"We had to request additional resources because we were dealing with a high-rise fire," said Deputy Chief Pawlick
The fire at 170 Prospect Avenue was eventually placed under control and there were no injuries reported.
