Pedestrians are sitting ducks on Polifly Road in Hackensack, where another woman was killed in July as she tried to cross the street at night

Hackensack Discussion / Re: Hackensack University Medical Center

But visitors still are out of luck at Hackensack University Medical Center, I guess you are saying. Then, there is the factor of the medical center being so busy that going to one of the health providers is an ordeal. The main parking garage is always packed, and some areas were closed for renovation when I was there in January and February to go to a dermatologist. I had to go to the top deck to find a space. The hospital has four electric chargers for visitors in one garage, but when I tried to use one all were taken. Ten other electric chargers are reserved for doctors. Who is "addicted" to valet parking?

The parking at Englewood Health (Englewood Hospital and Medical Center), whether valet or self-park, is free.

Special hours for seniors at Costco Wholesale in Teterboro

The Costco warehouse in Teterboro eliminated early hours for members 60 years old and older on Tuesday and Thursdays during the week of April 18, 2022, rolling back the opening time to 10 a.m. from 9 a.m.
The crowds are noticeably bigger than before and checkout lanes are unusually busy during the first hour.

My wife shopped there this morning and reported Costco members formed 2 lines to await the 10 a.m. opening -- one in the direction of the tire shop -- until an employee instructed them to join the single line. We've been shopping there on Tuesdays and Thursday to avoid these frenetic Mondays.

I've seen no lines on Tuesdays or Thursdays at 10 a.m. And even if you have a full basket, employees are on hand to help you through a self-checkout lane -- the fastest way to get out of there and head for the exit./size]

I guess you can call the city's Public Works Department and speak to someone in recycling. This happened only once?

And how did you know it wasn't contaminated by dog shit or something else? Was the cardboard tied up as it should be? Was there any styrofoam in there (it isn't recyclable any longer) or stained pizza boxes?

OK, I called the Hackensack Department of Public Works this morning and was told the only reason recycling is put into a truck loaded with garbage is when the recycling put out by a homeowner is contaminated with dog poop or other stuff thrown in there by a neighbor or other passer-by, for example.

The decision is made on the spot and left up to the men who are collecting the recycling.

So, I guess in the instance you sighted, one of your neighbors is to blame. The woman I spoke with said contaminated recycling is encountered a lot, and I imagine that would include bottles and cans that aren't rinsed out or restaurant takeout containers that aren't cleaned of food.

Yesterday (March 31), I filled the tank of our 2010 Toyota Prius at the Costco gas station in Teterboro for $3.99.9 a gallon -- a dime less than my previous fillup.

Also, "passed away" is a huge no-no on newspaper copy desks (The Record and NorthJersey.com don't have copy desks any longer). People "die." Obviously, it was done to fill space in the headline.

Well, they pick up the garbage and recycling around 6 a.m. I'm usually having my first cup of coffee and don't go outside. Are you saying they put garbage and recycling in same truck?
